Paper with Tuomo Sainio on reactor-separator processes
Tuomo Sainio (Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology – LUT, Finland) and Malte Kaspereit present in Chemical Engineering Science a thorough model-based analysis on reactor-separator processes for the degradation of polymeric and oligomeric compounds to produce products with controlled molar weight distributions (MWD). The study demonstrates how to model such systems, which factors are essential for controlling the MWD, and that such processes are superior to conventional production schemes. The results are also of general relevance for the field of reactor-separator systems.
